INNOVATION RULED AT THE PRESS CONFERENCE FOR G1

SEATTLE, WA USA – The world was watching when T-Mobile released G1, the first Android™ mobile phone, on Tuesday. What the world didn’t see was the behind the scenes efforts by global experience company, The Production Network (TPN).

SETTING THE STAGE FOR NEW TECHNOLOGY

Collaborating with T-Mobile, TPN designed the press experience including the product developer community video, press conference, product fair and webcast viewer.
Our aim was to create a non-traditional press conference – a true G1 experience. Starting with the selection of the upscale alternative venue on 1st Ave in New York; we combined interior and lighting design, integrated new media technologies and provided attendees a platform for education and hands-on experience with a G1 phone.

Always the steady, taking pride in our production, TPN managed to design-build this conference in a record time of three weeks. The venue itself included a main press conference, product fair, six station news filling room and five private press interview rooms. The main press conference, delivered by T-Mobile’s Cole Brodman, Christopher Schlaffer of Deutsche Telekom, Andrew Rubin of Google, and HTC’s Peter Chou, included a 13’x21’ rear semi-circular projection screen, stage and lighting design with theater seating. Showings on this massive HD screen included a sizzle reel written and produced by TPN’s creative and technology teams.

The product fair provided members of the press the opportunity to meet the G1 application developers, preview capabilities and get their hands on the G1 for an interactive experience. The news filing room and private press rooms provided press the opportunity to rapidly turn their enthusiasm into news.
