I’ve just returned from a month’s worth of business travel, during which the TPN events team created experiences for more than 30,000 attendees at venues around the country. While I’m always inspired by the great work that my colleagues do, this year I was also excited to get my hands dirty and help create a pair of keynotes for the Services business group for their world-wide sales and marketing event (aka MGX to the cognoscenti!). TPN partnered with the amazing creative brains at Wexley School for Girls, http://www.wexley.com – as well as working closely with the business owners and event planners within the Services group.
We won the project with some great pre-show attractors from Wexley, as well as a really cool “steam punk” inspired scenic design from TPN’s own Martin Christoffel. As the project rolled along we had the typical challenges to deal with, and a not so typical change-up of the senior executive who was presenting the keynotes, only two weeks prior to the event. Our client team was awesome to deal with, and we all hung together to get the job done. The Wexley team put in some long days and late nights tweaking videos for a slightly revised “vision”.
Once on-site the show came together beautifully, with a single day to install and tweak! Center screen content created by Martin and Alex Berry, TPN’s light designer extraordinaire – kept the steam punk theme relevant, and provided some amazing camera backgrounds for the stage presenters. In a year when budgets are very tight, it was challenging and inspiring to create a scenic design that didn’t break the bank – and really differentiated the Services Keynotes from the many other events taking place in the Atlanta Convention Center. We saw lots of big screen, and amazing content – but nothing quite like our show. The fact that our Senior VP got a standing – O didn’t hurt either!
