Seeds of Compassion
Kick off an international initiative created in conjunction with the Dalai Lama to nurture kindness and compassion in the world, starting with children and all those who touch their lives.
TPN created a themed five-day, city-wide festival that brought internationally renowned spiritual leaders, entertainers, luminaries, scientists, psychologists, educators, business leaders, government, community groups, parents and children together to discuss the real-life socio-cultural benefits of practicing compassion.
Events included large-scale cultural celebrations, concerts, public workshops and discussions, art shows and webcasts in 24 languages.
More than 144,000 people, including 186 community organizations, 1,500 volunteers and 15,000 children attended the events. The Seeds of Compassion website drew almost half a million visitors from 154 countries.
Across the country and around the world, the event series generated more than 1,000 broadcast impressions and 100 print mentions with a combined circulation of more than 80 million people.
An independent survey of more than 10,000 attendees found that 94 percent of respondents made a commitment to increasing compassionate behaviors in the future and a full 80 percent provided their email addresses to opt-in for future communication.
