ODST HALO Launch EMP
A thousand gamers lined the block to be the first to play
Upon entering guests got even more than they bargained for with a jaw-dropping event design that truly felt like a living brand.
TPN managed the entire event including the immensely popular 36 kiosk play-off area. Another event highlight was the Q & A with developers of the game. The internet exploded with blogs about these developer sessions before the event even closed.
Not surprisingly the party drew a lot of diehards. Some fans came outfitted as live action figures, the Master Chief or ODST. Young Ben won the best costume.
Bungie staff and Xbox developers helped with poster signings. The Bungie posters were on sale with proceeds benefitting childsplay charity. (Link)
The creative was totally in keeping with the game – including colors, video graphics and use of graphics throughout the venue. The EMP and Science Fiction Museum proved the perfect setting for this show, with ideal lighting and room for TONS of interactive stations – 36 Firefight stations and 4 Campaign stations.
This event proved that there is nothing like the first time…one tries a video game. (Links)
“Halo” is a billion-dollar franchise and one of the most popular entertainment properties in the world, with more than 27 million copies sold to date. Many thanks and props to Bungie + the Xbox 360 team at Microsoft who brought the event to the passionates – and the work to TPN.
